The basic idea behind the application is to keep track of ebooks, a user has been reading or going to start read on next day/week/month.
Everybody these days read more than one ebook in overall day on their machine and many of us have a habit to make a collection of ebooks on our HD that he/she is interested into. But its very difficult to remember which ebooks we want to read on priority. So my aim is to make such an application which can allow user to add the location of ebooks from his desktop to make a list. User can browse books and add it to the list just like we add any application or file to kdemenu. You can see a prototype which i have created using Photoshop. http://goo.gl/gquVD |

Please try "Tellico". It is a collection manager for ebooks as well as lot of other collections.
It is available in kubuntu repositories. I think it has all the features you need. |

@chetankhona: I tried installing Tellico but it seems different, its kind of cataloging application where i have to add just ebooks titles and other details. I can not open up the ebook to read it using tellico.

- Please add field of type URL - You can name it anything (Attachment, Location etc.) - Create new entry for the book and put the location of ebook in above field - Now you can just click on the URL and your book will open in Okular or the associated application |

We already have Calibre: http://calibre-ebook.com/
It's written in python/PyQt, and probably does look a bit different among all the KDE apps, but it's a very good and feature-rich ebook manager. So probably it's a better idea to contribute to Calibre (improving its KDE integration and overall look & feel) than to develop a separate application. However, having a KDE eBook app is great anyway (be it Calibre or not), so my vote here is a "YES!" |
