1) Playlist Layouts should let the user control the visibility of these items

2) Playlist Layouts should let the user control the visibility of these items or an hide button should be added.

3) View button should add an option to hide status bar.

First I think there's a special brainstorm for Amarok in Amarok subforum.
Er there's just usability subforum where ths could be also posted... Sorry I should have check it.
Secondly, I hope you're aware that you can change the main toolbar (where the song progress is shown) from "main" as in your screenshot to slim, which is significantlya thiner and less space consuming.

I am all aware of those things you mentioned. FAmarok usability subforum has a discussion which suggests these changes to be published here to see people's reaction. Because they don't believe they are necessary. Second I know about slimbar which is not beautiful in my opinion and those things that I mentioned are much useless and waste real estate, even I saw an Amarok developer's message admitting status bar wasting real estate sitting there and doing nothing except the rare condition of an error message as toolbars already show the playing song, playlist does too etc.

But you're right, maybe I should give a link to this idea in the usability forum.

I remember a post in the Amarok forum here saying they were reluctant to aloowing the menubar to be hidden because it was unnecessary and a liability. Having that option was my second favorite part of the last release (my favorite being better attention to system theme colors, even if they missed the media source names).

I know about slimbar which is not beautiful in my opinion

So they could also make the UI more netbook friendly by beautifying the slimbar a bit. There's really no reason it shouldn't mimic the mainbar's appearance more.

Well, I couldn't agree more. By the way, I am not complaining about the main bar because on a netbook you don't get much space by switching to slimbar or I feel like it. The reason I choose amarok as a music player is its looks, hence hands up for the slimbar beautification!
