The crash handler is annoying and useless. It appears when closing KPlayer, and it can cause a shutdown to hang for hours if something like Nepomuk or kdm "crashes". It has appear dozens if not hundreds of times, and never has it gathered enough information to submit crash data to developers. With crashes like these, I obviously don't need a button to restart the application.

If kplayer is this broken it should be fixed on their end.

It won't be though; it's been broken for almost two years! http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=de ... tid=532182 That's beside the point though. This feature has been desired since 2003! http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions ... off-78696/

have you tried contacting the developer ? http://kplayer.sourceforge.net/email.html
is the project still being developed? if not you should consider moving to kmplayer or smplayer |

I just e-mailed them. I asked if they were still maintaining the project, but kmplayer is not worth using to avoid a crash every other quit or so. smplayer looks a little familiar, but I don't remember using it; so I appreciate your mentioning that and will give it a try or at least another one. Still, the problem here is no apparent way to turn off the crash handler or remove it.
