Hi,
I've always wondered how come Kate only has one color scheme by default. As I'm used to a dark text editor, I've gone looking for other color schemes but the whole finding-installing process is needlesly complicated. At the same time, the Get Hot New Stuff dialog is one of the nicest features you can show to someone who hasn't seen KDE before and even us veteran users are often nicely surprised by the stuff that pops up there. Why can't Kate use the GHNS dialog for new color schemes and allow our users' creativity flow? We could also import color schemas from other open source editors (if their licenses allow it, of course) and put them on there (volunteer here! ). With a sample screenshot of what the text will look like (there could be a default pre-defined text, like for Kopete, so comparison between different schemas is easier), that would be a great addition to an already superb editor. |

on kde-look the color highlight are found in several different sections each time.
this feature is more useful for simply this option! |
