Multiple File Rename In Dolphin Keeps Extensions

The main issue here is that when you select multiple files to be renamed in Dolphin, if any of the selected files have different file extensions (such as .txt, .jpg, .avi, etc.) then Dolphin will display a blank after the filename and #, instead of the extension. My idea is to simply put a placeholder there, and if you leave it after renaming, the files will keep the same extensions they had before you renamed them. An example of a placeholder would be to put .[ext] after the filename and #, or it could be .ext, .EXT, .[EXT], .*, ect.. Since pictures are worth a thousand words, here's two images, the first one showing how it looks now when you rename files with differing extensions and the second showing an example of a placeholder that could be used to indicate the keeping of the files original extension. Changing the placeholder from .[ext] to .jpg or .mp3 or something could change all of the selected files extensions to the typed extension.
