I hope my quick mockup speaks for itself : my wish is to switch both activities and virtual desktops from within the same plasmoid.

It would centralize the action of workspace switching, be it spatial (virtual desktop) or logical (activity).

Closely related idea/wish : be able to have a different virtual desktops setup (i.e number of v.ds) for each activity.


And it would (imho) nicely resolve this problematic : brainstorm.php#idea92919_page1

This is very similar, to the point of almost being duplicate of my idea:

But I like yours better.
If you agree I'll mark my idea as duplicate of yours. If you don't think they are that similar please do explain.

Feel free to mark it duplicate, both ideas seems to address the same issue.

While this is a very nice concept, I still believe that the default when switching activity should be landing on the desktop last used in the new activity
