Hi!

The idea is the following, not all the windows must have to be maximized using kde in netbook plasma mode, for example, when the system asks for a password:

It gets anoying to have to look a window 90% occupied by nothing with a little tiny space with a textbox. The same thing happens in other events of the system, i tooked some extra shots:

So, i think it's better to handle this password input windows, maybe, as traditional sized way or i don't know, but not as currently. :)

So, what do you think?

This is possible today via windows rules, perhaps it should be a system default, but it takes 1 minute to config it:

go to systemsettings->window behavior->window rules->add a rule

give it a name and go to extra window, select everything except normal window (you can later deselect other window types to match your taste)

go to geometry and select placement force and any policy except maximized :).

Save and that's it.

I was disappointed as well by apps like kopete or skype being maximized all time. with window rules you can make them behave likeyou wish.

Thank you very much, i don't know that these rules can be applied to the system, but, i also think that for an average user to have to perform these activities to have a better experience with KDE will be freightening :)

So i suggest to consider this idea as default system configuration. :)
