New Improved Zoom Kwin Effect

Mon Apr 04, 2011 3:46 pm
Idea: Zoom Effect could be used to zoom specific user defined areas(especially to read various content)

Current Problems:
1) User does not define the size of the zoomed area dynamically.
2) When I read I usually move the mouse from line to line(are there any others? :))
3) When you read in a zoomed area there are many irrelevant elements around that create disturbance

Proposed Solution:

Screen 1
-------------------------------
General Functionality

*)User After a Key Combination selects the desired area which is going to be zoomed

*)After the selection, screen changes immediately to Screen2

Screen2
-------------------------------
*) Only the specified area is zoomed

*) The mouse does not move the specified area or better there is two states support with MIDDLE MOUSE BUTTON TOGGLE,
(LOCKED STATE / UNLOCKED STATE)
LOCKED STATE: Mouse Does not move the zoomed area
UNLOCKED STATE: Mouse moves the zoomed area

*) There is a GwenView Style Fullscreen Bar which:
- Autohide
- Has an exit button
- Other buttons could be added in future releases
(e.g. Zoom more, Zoom less, Take Screenshot etc.)
