Multiple virtual pointers.

Wed Apr 06, 2011 3:46 pm
Actually users are using mouse and there's many UX problems. In my opinion using mouse is not fast as possible and we need context oriented shortcuts.

Imagine entry of window list are blinked. To interact with this application user must move mouse or using ALT+TAB keyboard combination. That's making me nervous. I search for solution, which allow me to click winkey(super)+tab to change virtual mouse cursor.

How it would works:
1. Window list decide to inform user about some think - instead using only custom way to communicate, it also define new virtual cursor placed above event
2. KWin generate nice effect of cursor appear
3. User look after effect and decides to interact with window list
4. User must only to click windows+tab to switch onto next virtual cursor
5. New cursor would become active

I think, that opening a application menu(alt+f for example) should move cursor too. Maybe define virtual cursor, that appears above current/activated item(some widget always have a focus).
