I remember there was a nice feature in KDE 3*, it was possible to print as pdf, or to print as pdf to email...
This is a really nice function.

It is a nice way to simply and quickly extract some pages from a big document.... a directly send it

Personally I'm missing this function, because I'm often sending only 1 page from a 3 or 5 page document via email, to a fax connector...

The ability to print to pdf is in the print dialog box, where you can choose your printer. It works for anything you care to print.

I don't think that has ever been possible. I don't even think it is desirable. Print to pdf and attach it - that way the recipient can decide when to view it.

That is the printer dialog. The current dialog also has that ability, but it doesn't email the pdf which is what appears to be requested.

Hmm - I don't recall ever seeing that before, but then I didn't look for it, so that isn't necessarily significant. I wonder if it is actually part of the printer driver? Speculation, in that it seems to me that it's not dissimilar to printing to fax, which hplip gives me. Other than that, I've no idea. Sorry.
