With Bumblebee programs can be launched using discrete graphics card. It works from console by adding optirun before program's name. The idea was to be able to start program with optirun from Kickoff. For example right click menu would contain "Run with optirun" option or something like that. Example case: I want to play some game using my discrete graphics card so I open Kickoff, find that game, right click on it and choose to run with optirun.

Example command line syntax:
"optirun rekonq"

I think it should be done in .desktop file, so whenever you run the same game, its always opened in discrete graphics card.
