Simple idea, but probably hard to implement — I have no idea, though.
In any KDE application, when you are given a field where you are supposed to specify an URL or a file or directory path, there is a Dolphin/folder icon at the right side (maybe left for RTL languages) which lets you choose one from your file system. This happens, for example, with Konqueror[1] (with KHTML, and it is something I really miss in WebKit, by the way, but I guess I’ll report that wish in KDE Bugs). Also, when you are supposed to enter a date, you usually are given a calendar to pick it from. This happens, for example, when you set an alarm in KAlarm. So, I would love to see something like this happen for locations, so when you are suposed to enter a location, you could either write one yourself, like “Spain” or “New York” or “Home”, or set the coordinates of the place with a Marble kpart (or whatever) with OpenStreetMap (maybe the one to be used should be configured from Marble). So, instead of a Dolphin/folder icon, a Marble icon could be added to the right side and it would open a little window (the way it would happen with a folder or a date) where you could zoom in/out, drag, and mark the place. In fact, the design of the window for folders could be copied: left panel with predefined locations (I think Marble supports marking those already), top bar with a search field instead of breadcrums, center-right with the map, and bottom with the Save button. This feature would be perfect for KOrganizer, when setting the location for a meeting. EDIT: Still, would be nice if the field could include both marked map and text, maybe the ability to write text in the mark, like the text-address. --- [1] Can be seen here: http://bayimg.com |

This is not hard to implement. Marble has a qt widget, thanks to this everyone can implement marble in a application easily. An example of this it's the hour and locale selector from tribe (chraka's installer).
