The idea would be to have a lot of applications aware of the existence of some (possible several) ownCloud servers, and have something like "one click" configuration for every application (apps that make sense to be synced with "the cloud").
So for example, from the "System preferences", you would have a section to add and configure ownCloud accounts (you could add several accounts). Then, you would for example: * Save and restore configurations (like effects, windows behaviours, panels and plasmoids configurations and locations, etc) * From Dolphin, when right-clicking a folder, you would have an entry labeled "sync with" where you can choose which accounts to sync that folder to * From Amarok, it will show you the ownCloud accounts where you have music and be able to play them right away, and upload new ones. * An akonadi resource that will sync with events and the calendar * An akonadi resource that will sync contacts * Games are able to save scores well, i think you get the picture... there sure are a lot of things to think of that can be added to the previous list, and i think the key aspect here, is to have the account(s) configured in just one place, perhaps implementing oAuth in ownCloud ? |
