This idea came from dissarisfaction with doks and panels available to KDE.
I don't know any app similar to that present. If there is already, please, alert me and disregard this idea. Is the following: Would be a sort drawer. She would the ability to store any plasma widget and it be able to behave like any other panel, but staying into main panel. Its most important feature would be to resize (change length and height) everything that is inside, regardless of the main panel settings in which it is (the drawer). Here's an illustration for better undertanding: Edited with "Ember" plasma theme. Follows a some more words (and sketches) about the operation, usefulness and some of its configuration options: - Will be particularly important (otherwise there would be no reason for being) can change the size settings as follows: Size of the interior panel (changed by means of digits): Height: "32" | Length: "640": Outer limit: Manualy (move using the mouse): - Roll the contents of the drawer using CTRL plus mouse scroll button: - It is important that she has two options of the normal panel: "The windows goes down"; "The windows can cover"; - Could also have the option to be merged to the main panel, may be as follows: Default settings (like on illustration up there) x Panel and drawer merged - Here's another sketch showing more of the new widget possibilities: Kickoff/Lancelot like Gnomenu - It would also be useful in limiting the expansion of the notifications widget into the drawer: Advantages: - Total use of panel space, both vertically and horizontally; - For those who as me who does not like the Mac dock type and prefer to keep just one panel for everything, it would be helpful; - A bolder style for the default KDE panel; - I think this tool could encourage netbook users (or who are not satisfied with the dimensions of your monitor); Ultimately, would be something visually as can be seen in new Mandriva: But, is not exactly how I want, do you understand? Well, it's more or minus this... PS: Sorry my bad english, I'm brasilian. |
