I propose a task list that is synchronized with the task switcher.

The idea is that the task list would echo the behavior of Alt@kb_sctab. The current application would always be listed as left-most. When pressing Alt@kb_scTab (and before you release Alt) the next task (which happens to be second from the left) would have its preview shown, pressing Tab again would move the preview one more tab to the right and when releasing Alt, the new task would animate to the first spot in the left.

As far as I am concerned, no other alt-tab dialog need be shown when using this switching method, as long as the previews are large enough for users to notice them.

If needed, I can throw together some visual mockups (though I am no graphic designer so I didn't bother yet).
