This idea is for any editor-component based program;

When doing searches through code, the editor should provide you a dropdown or selector in the find bar allowing you to:
- Search entire file
- Search only in comments
- Search only active code

This way, if you comment-out large swaths of code, you don't pull them up in needless results while working.


An extension of this may recycle highlighting code for additional search-options; the dropdown may provide you the options to search specifically for...
- Declarations
- Function calls
- Variables
- Strings
- Markups
- Etc...
... If you are searching in the appropriate file type.
