More a suggestion than a "new idea," but...

I'm new to KDE and realise there's a learning curve to it, but there's what I think is too steep a bit to the curve with the "group similar windows" option.

I use lots of terminals in what I do and I generally need all of them visible at once. When the "group windows" thing is active, however, it forces all the konsoles into one window accessible, one at a time, under tabs. This is pretty much useless to me, but it seems to be the default in KDE and it took me several hours, and a bit of blind luck, to figure out how to turn the option off--an obscure checkbox under the "Advanced" tab under System Settings-->Window Behaviour wasn't easy to find, especially since I spent most of my time looking for options to konsole itself.

So, my "new idea" is this: don't default to grouped windows. Or, if you want to keep that default, at least have a window button for "Ungroup Windows" or something similar.

That issue aside, however, KDE is definitely cooler than Gnome. I wish I'd switched earlier, but it took the intense dumbing-down they did to Gnome 3 to pry me out of my habits.
