I use okular as a general purpose document viewer.
In about 95% of all cases I use it to open a pdf document.
And also in about 95% of all cases I first have to manually adjust the zoom level from "Fit width" to "Fit page". That is because I have good eyes and a wide screen. In "Fit page" mode I usually have no problems with reading the text. I prefer the full page view, since it provides a better overview over the documents structure and layout compared to other zoom levels. Works fine, but:

Why do I have have to manually adjust the zoom level every single time ?

To keep things simple I suggest an additional configuration option to manually define a "Default zoom level" to be chosen upon application launch. Another option would be to restore the last zoom level chosen, this would be a "Persistent zoom level".

The current okular version (0.26 in my case) offers something close to this:

> Settings > Configure Okular... > View Options > Default Zoom

This allows to chose "Fit page" (or whatever other option) as a default. Not exactly a persistent zoom, but sufficient. So I'd say: this has actually been implemented! Thanks! ^-^
