hi
i found it's not very intuitive and easy to give money to kde. i think that could be nice if in the about of every project we could give money via paypal, google wallet and so on for the application projet.... if i'm a big fan of amarok, i could go to about page and give money to the projet to improve the software.... i found there are not enough marketing done around kde to get new donations.... thanks |

We have http://kde.org/community/donations/prev ... ations.php
and http://jointhegame.kde.org/ (for persistent donations) As for donating to a single project, that's not really very practical, each project needs to manage accounts and find a way to actually spend the money that's fair to all the developers...and you need to make sure one guy doesn't just run off with the money. In KDE Telepathy (my project) we had a beer fund where people could donate money for the single purpose of buying us all beer. It got maybe $300 total, even that was difficult to manage where the money was and to distribute fairly. We've stopped doing it now. Putting money via the KDE eV ensures it goes to the right places safely. |

each project is supposing to have a project manager... if we can trust it... where we go?
for kde, that could be interesting to see where the money go... like engage developper, marketing and so on |
