[KWin] Fullscreen windows

Thu Apr 24, 2014 8:58 am
Hello,

I don't know if there was discussion about this before (my apologies if there was), but I would like to ask if it's possible to have something button for making apps go full screen, like the Mac OS does ? Would it be hard to implement, or have you already discussed this ?

Kind regards

Open the window menu (Alt+F3), and go to More Actions -> Fullscreen
(might be positioned differently in older versions of KWin)

You can also assign a shortcut for this and IN THEORY any decoration could add a button that does such (bit more complex than regular button, but possible)
The problem about this approach (titlebar button) is not to fullscreen, but to exit fullscreen mode, which the application would have to provide an interface for (or you already know about alt+f3 or a special shortcut, eg. Meta+F11 here)
