open command

One of the minor features I really liked back then I used OSX was the "open" command, which let me open files from the terminal in the default application like this:
# open stuff.pdf

Which would open the file stuff.pdf in OSX' PDF viewer.

Or if I'd like to play a mp3-file
# open "white and nerdy.mp3"
Which would open the mp3-file in iTunes.

I'd really lkke build-in command what would do the same in KDE4.

You can use either of the following two commands to achieve this:

kfmclient
xdg-open

KDE Sysadmin

kde-open will do this as well.
