While it's possible to set a keyboard shortcut to open Folder View, at present there is no means to scroll through the items once open. Supported behaviour should include page up/down and line-by-line scrolling (customizable to any keys, of course).
Further, it should be possible to jump to a location within the folder by typing, e.g. "h" takes you immediately to the entries beginning with "h", "hoc" takes you to the entries beginning with "hoc", etc. |

Currently the idea is being discussed on the Plasma mailing list. Some patches have been already proposed and the author is working to refine them. I think it won't be long till this gets implemented.
