right now the situation is like this:
i wanna open a file somewhere, so i open quicklaunch, click on a folder, dolphin opens and i click on the next folder(s) until i found the file. why let me "quick launch" only direct subfolders and files of my home dir e.g.? i think it would be really cool if i could directly go into subfolders via quickaunch by (single) clicking a folder and the content of the folder would be shown right next to the first one, then click on the next subfolder til i find what i´m looking for. this could be something similar to the column view that dolphin already offers. so if i just wanna find a file and open it, there´s no need to open dolphin (if i don´t want to). but by double clicking a folder i could open it in dolphin. choice is such a good thing ![]() this is one of those little things that could make kde even better than it is right now |

This is already possible. Simply supply a URL instead of an application and KDE will automatically handle launching the correct application.
