What's wrong with KRunner now?

Very few things, it's excellent, save for one minor thing...

Well...Alt-F2 might seem easier for you, but it's hardly something my partly arthritis laden Mother can use without causing her pain. Also rather breaks my 'do it quickly, do it fast' style of writing, as I have to pause to put my fingers into such a position.


Point taken, what do you think should be done?


Be able to specify the summon button through a keygrabber program.

I agree, ALT-F2 is really bad. I already filed a bug against it to change it ALT-Space which was used by Katapult in KDE3 and which I think is much better to make Krunner more prominent as it becomes more powerful. Unfortunately KDE-devs seem to conservative with this. However you can change the buttion already in systemsettings, which is what I have done.

Might I ask how you did it?

My idea still stands, such a task should be within KRunner's menu itself.

I always change it to meta+space (win+space) myself.

As for changing it, go to keyboard & mouse -> global keyboard shortcuts -> run command interface (in dropdown at top) -> run command.
