Rearrange Applications in Taskbar

In Gnome, it is possible to rearrange the order of applications in the taskbar by simply dragging/dropping.While it is not essential, it is a very handy and productive feature which I have become accustomed to use quite often. I don't think it would be at all difficult to add to KDE, and would code it myself if I had better knowledge of the KDE libs.

Have you tried setting sorting to "Manually" in task manager settings? ;)

As alec said, just set sorting to manual. The same goes for grouping.
