If I'm not making a mistake, KpackageKit doesn't use KDE proxy settings when it wants to connect to the internet.
I think it can be done easily |

Are you sure that is not working alone the KpackageKit software?
What kind of proxy do you use? is it an ISA server? |

It does use the KDE proxy settings. A little from the changelog of KPackageKit 0.4.1
0.4.1 - Fixed compatibilities with PackageKit-qt >= 0.4.7 - Added Proxy support (through kde proxy settings, be aware that your backend must implement this feature too) http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.ph ... tent=84745 |

I have only the version 0.4.0. It don't know why but it isn't in the sources yet! Thank you |

Are you using Kubuntu like me? In that case, you'll have to wait for 9.10 KPackageKit 0.4.1 en 0.4.2 are incompatible with 9.04, an therefore 0.4.2 is the default in 9.10 |

I am testing the 9.10 Kubuntu version. This release have a 0.4.2 kPackegeKit version. I don't see new settings about proxy.
Now, I have not the opportunity to test it behind a proxy Server. I suspect that the feature that you refer is the ability of software to use the kde network configuration. This is a new features since today kpackegekit can not be configured to be used behind a proxy server. |

KPackageKit 0.4.1 and 0.4.2 autodetect the KDE Proxy settings. Since it uses the KDE Proxy settings, there is no need to have it built-in in KPackageKit. |
