Hi,
I have mounted a partition on /disk by making an entry in fstab. I usually reach it by clicking 'Root' under places on dolphin and then opening it. While nautilus does show it in its places side pane (don't get me wrong for comparing, I'm a recent convert to KDE). So how about it? If Dolphin too shows currently mounted mount points in the places panel, won't it be easy and quick to access, lets say /disk in my case or any other mount point in your case? This is simple to achieve - I use it. Simply go in once via root, as you do now, then drag the required folder into Places. It will look exactly like a local folder, and it is permanent. As long as you have it mounted in fstab with the user flag you will be able to use it as a local folder too.

Oh that's cool, how could I miss trying that, I've done this time to time back in my gnome days. Thanks!
