You can't move around the icons in the panel like you can with KDE 3.5.
This is a very handy feature. |

You can't move the icons that are in the system tray. You can move all the others. You have to open the panel configuration, either from the panel's cashew (extreme right) or by right-clicking on empty space in the panel (not in the taskbar part) > Panel Options > Panel Settings. While that configuration panel is open, hovering over any icon causes the cursor to change to a diamond shape. Use that cursor to drag your icon to where you want it.

I think he's talking about moving the icons _freely_ in the panel, not about changing their position in relation to the other plasmoids.

Thanks Annew, I noticed that when I tried to adjust the time display (since you can no longer adjust the font size my only option was to try different font styles and bold - really why give us these options but not font size?) that the icon grouping directly to the left of the time display was not intelligent enough to move to allow the time to be displayed properly. The time had the very first and last digit partially truncated. Yes thank you for telling me how to move regular icons in the panel I do appreciate that, but the time display is not being treated properly. |
