Hi,
I've submitted a question on this and the answer seems to be that the user cannot disable the balloons that appear over the panel (or whatever the bit at the bottom of the screen is called). I think this would be a useful option as I have seen a number of posts asking the same question. I find the balloons distracting, and they don't tell me anything I don't already know. Additionally, the balloons sometimes do not resolve properly, leaving a blank spot on the window in which they appeared. For me at least, KDE would be a much better window manager if I could disable them. Thanks. Jim |

But you can disable them...
I'll reply to the question you posted instead of here. EDIT: annew already answered your question, this is already implemented.

Hi Primoz,
The problem is that I can no longer find my question. I tried searching with "disable balloon" and only got all the messages that say it can't be done. Could you post the answer to this thread? Thanks. Jim |
