I think it would be a good addition to make it possible to open new 'place' (it's name may be different in english, sorry - what I mean is the left sidebar in dolphin) in new tab. Maybe even add a function to make it open in new tab in the background with middle mouse button? Browser style

I hope I made it clear enough, if not - let me know :)

I already do it this way... I use KDE 4.4

Poldark is correct, middle-clicking on a Places item will open it in a new tab. Please let me know if this is not what you intended and this idea will be reopened.
