Can you make dolphin or konqueror more usability, add new plugin for management ACL through KDE? Now it's possible only through the console(setfacl,getfacl).

Please explain what ACL is and why we would want to manage it through a file browser.

I think that each file browser must have possibility to manage extended file access. For server with many users file access control lists is very important. Not enough manage owner only.

Dolphin supports this already, (For posix ACLs, I don't know about NFSv4 ACLs)

It has to be on a file system that supports ACLs (and mounted to support them) and I think you have to have the ability to change the permissions, otherwise it shows the normal dialog

I can't see any options for setting permissions for groups and users except of the owning group and the owning user.
setfacl supports that� So Dolphin's permission-settings are incomplete, and when thinking about ACL I am usually interested in creating lists with more than two entries (one user, one group).

Are you sure you are trying this on a file/folder on a filesystem that both supports ACLs and if needed is mounted with the ACL option. (you have to set the "acl" option on ext4...), then you can manage ACLs

Because if it is not, it defaults to the standard permissions dialog.

Ah, really, my home partition has been mounted without ACL, thanks. It works very well.
