Add a Calendar View for recently used files (and all my files) + filters like Nemo Documents (http://www.nemo-docs.com/) has, to Dolphin.

there is something similar(ish) in function if Nepomuk and Strigi are enabled - a kio called "timeline"

but, i do not use Nepomuk and Strigi, because they are resource hogging and slow my system down.
I hope to be using both technologies in the future if they have less performance impact on my system. they, both, look very promising.
