KRunner Widget

See: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=98852 (Dev of RunCommand has been emailed but I figured i'd post it here as well so it could be mainlined)

KRunner's awesome but why can't we have it up 24/7? Why When I hit enter does it have to disappear after hitting alt-f2 or executing krunner? Why can't it be a standalone widget, either on the desktop or on the panel. When you type in a command and hit enter, it executes the command and then clears the search box (could be toggle, whether to clear or not) so that if you wanted you could bang out several commands back to back without having to hit enter, highlight the text, clear it out manually, then start typing again.

If its on the panel maybe to save space it normally only appears as a search icon like a magnifying glass, but when you click the magnifying glass a search box appears to the side, coming off of it you type in a command, it executes. Don't close the search box immediately, i would say, (This is all just my preference) leave it open until 1 of 2 things happen. 5 Seconds of inactivity (configurable) or the user clicks the search icon again, with a setting to keep it open all the time for those of us with large monitors where that inch or two of panel space isnt really a big deal.

I realize that there are already external widgets (like RunCommand) that try to do this, but It'd be nice for this was available from mainline so that everyone just automatically had this and it could integrate more deeply with KRunner or even is just an alternative UI for KRunner

Sorry, if the idea is already implemented, even by a third-party widget, it is still considered implemented. If you want this integrated into plasma-addons you will need to talk to the widget developer about it.
