After reading:
* http://blusrcu.ba/nookie/?p=22 * http://alediaferia.wordpress.com/2009/0 ... get-stuff/ I thought I'd share my idea on the topic as well, it's all about integrating the dialog into the panel like this: ![]() Please find more screenshots, explanation and rationale here: «Right where it belongs» and don't forget to drop you comment :) |

Personnaly, I prefer the actual system because I don't think if with your system, it would be easier to drag and drop a plasmoid in the taskbar.
And if we wanted to switch the virtual desktop, does your mini-window close ? florentg |

What do plasmoids and panels have in common? Maybe I don't even use a panel? Plasmoids should - as the are now - definitely be managed from the desktop/cashew.

He's talking about adding plasmoids to the panel, which at the moment uses the same dialogue window as the desktop. Personally, I think this is one thing I wouldn't want the devs to change. From the one dialogue window, I can add any widgets to any panels and any desktop activity I have. This would be more obstructive to me, as it would seem exclusive to the panel, which plasma widgets aren't. However, I DO like the icon view mock-up: that's something I wouldn't mind being able to see in the current dialogue window...

I know that there is at least ongoing discussion on the add widgets dialog. Yesterday on IRC someone was showing a number of mockups to the Plasma team.

The idea is partially realized. Should we contact with author(by sending private message to him) if the topic can be closed/removed or moved?
