Currently get hot new stuff, as its name implies, only shows you the most recent downloads for a certain category. This means that if you want to download something, even something extremely popular, that as not updated recently you have to go to one of the kde-____.org websites (kde-look, kde-apps, etc). It also is not necessarily immediately clear which one to go to. I think it would be better of "get hot new stuff" was just "get hot stuff", and it allowed you to download every file from the appropriate category. That way people can do all of their add-on management directly within the program, they will not have to open a web-browser and navigate the sometimes confusing collections of websites. This would, of course, require support for multiple pages of results, which it does not appear to support yet, as well as probably an option to set show how many items you want per page.
