If 50% of users think some feature is worth implementation, I think it is worth.

By current system if 2001 votes for and 2000 against, we get only 1 in votes area. I doth think it OK

Better solution to show
Vote Up | 2 Votes (total: 20) | Vote Down

same for well voted ideas, we cant see if support is 100% or many people are still voting against

I think this would be nice. If this gets appreciable number of votes, you would have it done ;)

Couldn't you write
Code: Select all
 Vote up (20) | Votes: 2 | Vote down (18)

So everybody sees the information without calculating.

Possible too, but might get hurt performance. I don't know the DB structure, but if this could be done without any "harm", yes, your version is better ;)

Well, you'd have the 20 and you already have the 2 so calculating 18 won't be that hard ;)

Anyway, i think this one would be a nice feature.

The db structure is such that individually, positive and negative votes can be calculated without extra load. So the layout suggested in post #3 is very feasible.

Added to my internal code repository. The next brainstorm software update should have this.
