When there is only one progam window and it is not minimized, the "Present Windows" effect doesn't activate.
This is a feacture which I think is not very good, because a user cannot be sure if there is only one window (if there is no "Task Manager" plasmoid in the panel for example) OR if the "Present Windows" effect is not working. I propose to always show the "Present Windows" effect even if there is only one window (even if it is not minimised). |

The effect does not even have to operate fully, for instance it could active and immediately deactivate again, or even just have the window shake or change size briefly. Just something to acknowledge that the user did something.

Actually I would like to use this effect to activate "show desktop", so the effect should activate always and show some desktop background which can be clickable. It could "active and immediately deactivate again" but letting time enough to the user click the background. This idea is towards a panel less desktop. |

Compiz does exactly the same as described in the idea Just try it out.
Fo openSUSE use http://download.opensuse.org/repositori ... 4_Factory/ The 1click in suse's wiki is outdated and doesnt work at all. |

Another option offered by Mac\'s Expose and Compiz\'s Scale is to have the effect still activate, but it brings the sole open window up to cover most of the screen. This tells the user that only one window is open, and it only takes a single click to return back to work. I like this option because then clicking outside of any of the windows serves as the option to show the desktop without having to give the desktop its own window.
