With the new playlist layout editor in Amarok 2.1, it is possible to rearrange the playlist however you want. However, the currently-playing song has all the same elements as the rest of the songs. I think having some additional elements that only appear for playing songs would be useful. Examples could include a mini progress bar, percent complete, percent left, time complete, and time left.

The option to show or not show these additional controls are set in the playlist layouts, although there is no ui for setting it just yet.
