Hi folks,
I'd like to put forward the idea that, as they stand at the moment, the existing KDE power management settings are a little overkill. Now, I appreciate that the current settings are located in the "Advanced" tab of the System Settings panel and, therefor, are going to be fairly complex in their nature but I'd like to propose an addition. Please may we have, under the "General" tab, a power management section that's about as basic as those found in Windows Vista/7 or Mac OS X? Then, if anyone wants to refine the more detailed aspect of the selected profile, they can then adjust it under the "Advanced" System-Settings tab. It may also be worth tweaking the more advanced settings, too, to something a bit more sane. Thank you. |

Which makes it even more important to fix a scary dialog as it's more visible. I do recall it being quite complicated, with lots of profiles.
"as basic as those found in Windows Vista/7 or Mac OS X" I haven't used either of those. I'm sure many of us are like that, write down _specifically_ what you like about each of those. What should be in our more usable power management panel? |

It has also been made much simpler in 4.5.
