Hi.

I think the KDE configuration to set up multiple screens should allow user to set up what screen is the primary screen.

This is an option available in Xrandr by running something like xrandr --output LVDS1 --primary, so it should not be too hard to implant... I think that this option should be exposed in the KCM, because some laptops might set the external screen as the primary monitor, and put all of their Plasma panels and widgets on the second screen, when they want it on the laptop screen (or the other way around), and many users find running the command cumbersome.

BTW: The "Show unmanaged windows" option seems to be an option for KWin, not for setting this Xrandr option.

Oh yes! This annoyed me to hell everytime I start Kubuntu on my office notebook which is attached to a beamer. VGA (which is the external beamer output) is always primary and LVDS is secondary which always screws up my plasma configration and once home or in the other office (just one screen) I cannot access my widgets anymore because they are on the “other” screen.
On IRC they just said “type in xrandr blabla”. How am I supposed to remember that or tell this to a newbe?! +1!

Sweet! I just got it running, and this feature is in KDE 4.6 beta 1. I guess this one can be put under done.
