when would the season of kde be held this year? does anyone know the prerequisites for it and the procedure of selection?

The Season of KDE will be held again in 2013 if I recall correctly, but I am not sure when applications for it will be opened at this stage.
I'll ask one of the people involved.

@bcooksley Does any of your friends know when the applications for season of kde for this year would start? Could you please tell me what are the various skills that would be given preference for this?

Unfortunately no word is available as of yet I am afraid. You are best to wait and see when it is publicly announced at this stage.
