It should be in your distro's repository. Assuming your distro uses apt you just type

Just tried sudo apt-get install kmail as stated above. This is what I get! Some help would be much appreciated!!!!
sudo apt-get install kmail Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Some packages could not be installed. Well, you need to fix your broken packages first, and then check with your distribution if the problem persists. We do not make packages, that is something done by distributions.
Hint: trying to install kdepim rather than kmail alone should just work. Mind you, a tad more information about the exact distribution and version you use on your computer goes a long way when you raise this at your distribution
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Hi, thanks to all that comments.
"Broken" is the correct description! Having tried everything suggested here and elsewhere (except for reinstalling the OS or deleting all the config and data files) I went for broke an reinstalled kde-desktop. Re-installation went just fine and after that, kmail installed just fine. |
