Lack of responses and community support

Last week I've posted a question seeking help within the KOrganizer software category - however no one within the community has reached out in the way of support, let alone provide any response. No one is "owed" support, however this forum stands as the most appropriate place to seek it when it comes to KDE. With many new users like myself at a loss for where else to go for assistance, the barren subcategories and absence of acknowledgment would only serve to discourage participation and limit growth of the community...what gives?

I think, most "ignored" questions lack of needed information. Often users forget, that the supporters do not know the system, configuration, etc. they use and do not provide any useful information, like relevant logfiles to track down the problem. It is up to the user to provide this as he wants to get help and not everyone has the mood to ask for every single detail.

There is a well known source of how to ask questions (and some stuff around) available at smart questions. This would help a lot.

And sometimes you just have a problem that no one else had and where no hints are helpful. Then it is again up to the user to find a solution and post it to help others.

Also, the forum is by no means the only source for support, in the case of KDE-PIM the mailing list is also very helpful. Depending on the availability of the volunteers a week is not really a long time to wait for an answer.
I don't know how often you have asked a proprietary software vendor for help, I remember filing a bug report for a serious flaw in Word in 1996 which I never got any feedback for, and apparently it took until 2009 to get it fixed... compared to that I think we have a rather good record when it comes to support :-)
KDE-PIM is not really on my list for support as I lack enough knowledge for it and personally use another solution, so sorry if I am the wrong person to ask for this. But again, try the mailing list, they are very responsive (and mention that you asked in the forum first, maybe they will have a look there more often).

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

Thank you both for responding - I appreciate the tips and will definitely make use of the KDE-PIM mailing list and smart questions link.
