Hi. Presently users can delete their posts.
I participate in a number of forums and they dont allow to delete posts. As I see that this is a new forum (and amazing too ), if you like too, please take a look at the issue. Jacky Liu

Why do you see deleting posts as a problem?
If I post a response and then notice that what I posted does not really answer the question, I can just delete it instead of editing the post and putting "Oops. Mods, delete this!" Just because many others do it does not mean everyone else should follow.
Get problems solved faster - get reply notifications through Jabber!

Just one question: If you are the OP and you delete your post, will the entire thread be deleted? Some other forums I've used have this problem.

There is no difference between deleting a post and editing it to nothing, except the former is cleaner. You also just can't prevent people from editing their posts after X amount of hours either as there are still times when you need to add further information days later.

@jrick: Yes, the entire thread will be deleted if the original poster deletes their post.

Obviously we didn't get a consensus on that. For now i disabled the deletion of own posts/threads.
If that would lead into problems, please tell me. |
