Greetings
I visit the forums as guest everyday. I see that there is an immediate need of moderators here as currently moderation is very bad. Present moderators are not at all active and they should all be removed and new moderators should be added. I have seen there is Super Moderator post and I would like to volunteer for that post. Where and how should I apply for that? Do you have a voting system to select moderators here? Or do I have to take paid membership to get super moderator privilege? KFJ |

Could you please point out area(s) that you believe are currently very bad, and reasons why? Also contributing to the KDE Forums is done in the Moderators spare time, some of them may not be able to contribute constantly.
None of the forum super moderators have paid, and this forum does not have paid membership. There is no voting system on the Moderators, they recieve their positions solely at the Administrators discretion.

See in this part of the forum:
http://kde-forum.org It is full of spam. Look at the page footer, see those links? Why dont you guys clean them out? I was very upset when I saw this. I want to contribute in any way. Sorry if my post sounded harsh. |

kde-forum.org is not a part of the official KDE forums. It is not maintained by forum.kde.org moderators and/or KDE eV.
Overall, it is a totally different community and is not the responsibility of KDE project. |

I did not know that. I apologize for what I said in my first post (though I would still like to help the existing moderators here!)
But please tell me something. Why two different forums? |

Kudos! I will read the thread.
To whom should I talk to regarding becoming a super moderator here? Will you guys like to have me in your family? |

As I am just a normal user. I think the current moderators should have a look at the users here. And if there is someone with knowledge, who is active, diplomatic and they could imagine to work with, they should ask him. As you have only written a few posts (only in this thread), it's hard for the moderators to assess you. The maybe you have to be patient Regards, TeaAge

This again sounds rude, but is sadly the truth! Moderators don't have a say in selecting another moderator (that is why Im not asking either of the two who replied to the thread). Only administrators have the permissions to do that.

Well, administrators have permissions to set up the rights, but i for myself rely heavily on the moderator team and i am always up to their opinion.
But other than that, TeaAge describes it very well. Just enjoy the forum, give it time, and we will see. |

That's usually a good way of doing things not only on kde forums
