Why changed from MyBB to phpBB?

Mon Jul 06, 2009 6:16 am
It would be nice, if i could know why you changed the forum engine here?

I found nothing about this in the forums. Here viewtopic.php?f=9&t=62056#p81281 someone asks "And what was the reason to switch forum engines? Performance problems?" but it seems like nobody have replied to that question.

Please let us know why you changed.

The increase in the forum staff members changed quite a bit the internal workflow of the staff. Also, some staff members were more knowledgeable with regards to phpBB. As there were plans to change the forum theme, after some internal ddiscussion the staff decided to use that also to migrate the forum engine.

To sum up, the decision was made because the majority of the (new) staff worked with phpBB better.

As a user I find the new forum works much better.
