Translation of the forum

Mon Aug 03, 2009 1:20 pm
Hello, a question:
The forum software provides some translations, like German. But the German translation has got some issues (e.g. with the Brainstorm section). Is the translation only of the original software or do you add translations for your own "add-ons"?

Currently, only the core files of the board software have translations. Although the MODs (addons) also have the capability of having translations.
If needed, we will always provide the language files that need to be localized :)

I noticed that you added buttons to Brainstorm and they haven't got translations. In order to release your German Forum admins (like neverendingo I think) I would like to help you translating...

That's great :)

You can find the base images for brainstorm @ SVN : http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/www/sites/forum/templates (You should find the brainstorm images there as well, iirc)

Forget about the shadows (and button size), i will do it afterwards, just edit the text layers.

Ok, thanks :)
I'm not sure if I am able to do it today. Where to put the files if I finished working?

No need to rush! :)
You can either upload it somewhere (like our turkish translator in the parallel topic) or just mail it to me directly, and i can apply them to svn.

What's about the level names (German "Ebenenname") ? Should they be English? (Gimp changes them...)

no problem, AFAIK they are translated on an app level, no document level, so you'll see them in english again when opening as english.
