Hi,
I reported a spammer a few days ago, and today I reported another one with a similar name, and I decided to check if the previous one was deleted. So went to the members' list to see the accounts starting with "best". What I noticed, though, is that although they were (usually) banned and their posts were removed, the websites in their signatures/website fields remain intact! Here's the list of "best*" spammers: http://forum.kde.org/memberlist.php?sk=a&sd=a&first_char=b&start=277 Here's a list of banned users: http://forum.kde.org/memberlist.php?mode=group&g=29 So basically, the way it works right now, the spammers' goal is accomplished, even if they are banned, because their link is left on the website (and spammers don't usually return with the same username anyway). The proper thing to do, I think, is to automatically strip the signature and website from banned users' profiles. Or even better, remove spam accounts altogether.

Heh, thanks for the notice, but you were a BIT too early...
We are already working on an enhanced system. And it is near working state, so don't worry. But to give a bit of detail, banned accounts/memberlist/profiles are not accessible from the outside. But thanks anyway. |

We recently developed an advanced banning tool. I'd say that we can add this functionality (remove signature and flush profile of banned) to that. Good idea

Just to keep this topic updated, we now have this feature (since about a week) that flushes the profile of spambots when banned.
