for a long time my RSS of kde forum does not have any feeds, why?
When the kde forum created, the rss have worked great. |

We have changed RSS feeds many times unfortunately since the forums started. Currently, only urls that use search.php or smartfeed.php will function. smartfeed.php is deprecated at this time, and using SearchFeed is recommended.

It seems we forgot to announce this for some reason. However one of the staff members did blog about it: http://hanswchen.wordpress.com/2009/10/ ... and-feeds/

I mean, I cannot find the link about rss in User Control Panel now.
It seems that user cannot generate their rss url in forum.kde.org web interface. |

You can find the generation capability here - search.php
Simply set the Newsfeed format to the setting you want, select the desired forums, and enter and keywords / tags / authors you want to limit by ( not required ). Then click search to be taken to your feed.

So... Which address do I put in akregator to get an RSS feed for this forum?
I've been wanting to keep abreast of developments and help kde by way of this forum but my primary or rather only way of keeping tabs is using akregator - and I still don't know how to do it Would it be hard to add an RSS button to the home page?

There was one before, but it's been moved to Search now - see the link bcooksley posted above.
Hm, maybe we should add an additional link with that familiar RSS icon somewhere to make it easier to discover.

Yes please! I'd never have thought of looking under search, seems very opaque. An RSS button on the homepage would do the trick and make it _much_ more accessible.

A new seperate RSS url generator page has been added to our experimental branch and will appear with our next rollout.
Note that the RSS urls themselves are completely the same and do not need to be updated if you already have pre-existing feeds.
