What's new at KDE Forums?

Welcome to KDE Community Forums!

This document will provide an overview of the additional features we offer to the forum users.

  • Neverland UI: The KDE Community Forums offers an implementation of the Neverland UI. Neverland has a clean and simple interface that is soothing to the eye and is aesthetically pleasing.
  • Topic previews: The preview feature lets you quickly review a topic by hovering/clicking on the Preview link (located at the bottom right side of the topic titles in each forum).
  • KDE Brainstorm: KDE Brainstorm is a tool for posting ideas related to KDE SC and opinions about existing ones. Image
  • Guided posting utility: The Guided Posting utility offers a hassle-free way of creating a new topic. You can simply select your purpose of posting and the respective application (if applicable), and the utility will take you to the best place where you can post your topic. Image
  • News aggregator: The KDE Forum news aggregator is a service that provides the latest KDE news, all integrated at the community news area. You can simply subscribe to the to keep a track of the latest happenings at KDE. Image
  • User karma: All forum users have a karma value that is calculated as per the feedback given by other users. You can find your karma points on your profile page, and next to your posts. You can add positive/negative karma to a user by clicking on his/her karma count and then on the Rate this User button.
  • Tagging system: You can add tags to all topics here at KDE Forum. Topic tags can be seen at the top of every thread. Simply click on the edit tags icon to alter the topic's tags. The tagging system also generates a tagcloud, that can be found on the forum's index page. Additionally, you can also search topics by entering relevant tags in the search form. Image
  • Marking topics as solved: This feature allows you to mark your topic as Solved. Once you are satisfied with a solution posted against your question, you can click on the Accept this answer button below the most favorable solution to mark your topic as solved.
  • KDialogue: KDialogue is a community poll area where questions about KDE contributors can be voted upon. The popular questions are then passed on the the contributor himself/herself and the answers are released at the people behind KDE website. You can cast your vote, view existing results and discuss about the polls at a designated topic. This service has been deprecated Image
  • Krita gallery: This is a dedicated area for posting artwork created using Krita. You may also browse through artwork submitted by other forum members. Image

Other than these, we also provide numerous ergonomic enhancements to further improve your experience here.
